Performed by Bok van Blerk, a South African singer, this song explores the historical period of the Boer War between British imperialists and Dutch settlers.  The Boer turned to guerilla warfare to defend their new land, and in retaliation, the British placed their women and children in concentration camps.  The Boer rally around the cry for a leader to come to the rescue of their lives, families and country.  It continues to resonate deeply among Dutch Afrikaners today.
